Thanks for contacting St. Ailbe School. We are thrilled to hear from you and someone will be in touch shortly. Thank you for your patience.

What will our school year look like?

We have put together a plan that addresses the needs of our community that follow the reopening plan set forth by the Archdiocese of Chicago, in conjunction with the IDPH, CDC, and ISBE.  No decision is easy surrounding the education of children, and we have put together plans that can put your concerns at ease.

Preschool and Kindergarten have two options.

Students can come in person and will work directly with their classroom teacher.

Students can also attend virtually.  Virtual preschool will have its own instructor and will also interact with our in person students during the week, for events like virtual lunches or virtual read alouds.  Virtual kindergarten will work with the regular classroom teacher for independent practice in the morning and  direct instruction in the afternoon via Zoom.

St. Ailbe will be starting the year with virtual instruction by our classroom teachers in grades 1-8.

Our teachers will interact with every student each school day via Zoom, SeeSaw, and Google Classroom.  Teachers have been working all summer to prepare for a successful virtual or in person launch and are completely ready to start!

Our curriculum has been aligned to ensure our standards are being mastered even while we are not in the same physical space.  Attendance and engagement are the expectation for each student.  Every family has two options- in person with virtual instruction being completed in the school building OR virtual learning outside of St. Ailbe.

We will reevaluate this plan the first week of October to have a final decision by the end of midterm.

In person students are required to have a waiver on file in order to attend in the building.  Students must wear masks and follow the safety protocols put into place for the safety of all within the building.  If a child attending in person must be quarantined or gets ill, he/she will participate remotely (as appropriate) until he/she can come back to the classroom.

If the Archdiocese of Chicago or the state of Illinois decide that schools must be completely remote, we will follow the directive given.  All students will have the supplies needed sent home to participate remotely.

We invite you to call St. Ailbe Catholic School to see if this can be a fit for your child!  773-734-1386

Welcome to St. Ailbe Catholic School!

At St. Ailbe Catholic School, we seek achievement through our relentless push for academic excellence centered in our Christian values and family partnerships.  Our graduates consistently test into the top high schools in Chicago, with last year’s graduating scholars receiving over $100,000 in scholarships for high school.

St. Ailbe is driven by the mission to love our students to success in a Christ-centered, academically challenging environment.  We hold our students accountable for their work and help push them to the next level.  Through all of the work, we ensure that all students feel loved and part of our family.  Once a child steps into the classroom, the child will have an adult who will show an unyielding love and care for the whole child.  We never rest- we never stop.  Success is the expectation for all of our students.

ATTENTION FAMILIES: Due to facility improvements and evolving Covid protocols, we are adjusting our first day of school. We plan to open the school year on September 7th, 2021. We will share updates regarding the last day of school and graduation in the coming weeks.
