Embracing Community: Our Love Leads Us

We believe that education from Kindergarten through 8th grade should lay a strong foundation for lifelong learning by nurturing intellectual curiosity, emotional resilience, ethical integrity, and a sense of belonging in a diverse and evolving world.

At St. Ailbe, our mission is rooted in a profound love for our students and the community. Every child who enters our classrooms will receive unwavering love and support in an environment that celebrates their individuality, uniqueness, culture, and history.

Each child is a unique individual with innate potential. Our educational approach prioritizes the developmental needs, interests, and learning styles of every student, encouraging exploration and creativity within a safe and supportive environment.

Child-Centered Learning

Education must address the cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and moral development of students. We believe that academic growth is deeply connected to emotional well-being and character education.

Whole-Child Development

Educators are not mere dispensers of knowledge but co-learners and facilitators of inquiry. We value reflective teaching, professional collaboration, and continuous growth.

Teacher as Facilitator and Guide

All students deserve access to high-quality education regardless of their background, abilities, or identities. We are committed to fostering inclusive classrooms that value diverse perspectives and promote social justice.

Equity and Inclusion

From a young age, students should be encouraged to ask questions, think independently, and engage with real-world problems. We aim to cultivate a growth mindset, resilience, and a willingness to embrace challenges.

Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving

Core Beliefs

St. Ailbe logo

Knowledge is interconnected. A rich curriculum draws from multiple disciplines, encouraging students to see connections between literature, math, science, history, the arts, and the world around them.

Integrated & Interdisciplinary Learning

Teaching empathy, cooperation, self-regulation, and effective communication is just as important as teaching academics. SEL lays the groundwork for responsible citizenship and respectful collaboration.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Learning experiences must be tailored to align with the cognitive and emotional development of children at each stage. Instruction in the early years should be play-based and exploratory, gradually shifting to more structured, inquiry-based learning in upper elementary and middle grades.

Developmentally Appropriate Practice

Learning is most effective when it is supported by strong partnerships among families, schools, and communities. We seek to involve families as essential partners in their children's education.

Family and Community Engagement

While grounding students in core knowledge and values, we also prepare them for a future of rapid technological change and global interdependence. We foster adaptability, digital literacy, and civic responsibility.

Meet Our Principal

Dear St. Ailbe Parents & Families,

As we embark on the 2025-2026 academic year, I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all of our students and their families. Whether you are joining us for the first time or are a returning member of our school community, we are delighted to have you as part of our family.

At St. Ailbe School, we are committed to fostering an environment that promotes academic excellence, personal growth, and social responsibility. Our team of educators and staff are passionate about providing a quality education that meets the diverse needs of our students. We believe in creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.

We understand that the partnership between home and school is crucial for the success of our students. Therefore, we encourage open communication and collaboration between parents, teachers, and administrators. We value your input and look forward to working together to ensure a positive and enriching educational experience for your child.

Please be on the look-out for important information that will be sent via class dojo and email. There will be a few documents that need to be read, signed, and returned to the office by the first day of school, August 19, 2025.

Lastly, please save the date for our Parent meeting scheduled for August 7, 2025 and our  back to school picnic scheduled for August 17, 2025. Both events will be an opportunity to meet your child’s teachers, meet our Assistant Principal Ms. Larry, our office staff, and ask any questions you may have.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. We look forward to a successful and inspiring school year ahead.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Deana Dixon,
Principal
