As a school, we put God first, others second, and ourselves third.  We will work to make sure that we are part of the solution.

WELCOME TO THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR!  I am so excited for the school year to begin!  The school has been quiet since March, and starting September 8, students will be back in our hallways!  This year is going to look a lot different, but the welcoming environment will not change for our students.  This is not going to be an easy year, but this is definitely an exciting year.  We have such an opportunity for individualized student learning that we can take this year by storm!  We have taken into account our classrooms, students, staff, research, best practices, and ended up formulating a plan that is well thought out to engage all of our students.

We have about 70% of our students starting the year virtually, with our students in school getting a combination of in person instruction with Special classes and virtual instruction with their own classroom teacher.  All students will have a fully engaging school day with a mix of independent practice, direct instruction, and working in small groups with their teacher.  We have been working all summer to ensure that our start will be strong, and this year we have three areas that will always be met:  Faith, Growth, and Joy.

Our Catholic identity will remain a central part of who we are and what we do.  In addition to virtual prayer services and masses, students will be participating in a curriculum from DePaul University that is focused on JUSTICE.  The curriculum allows students to investigate and formulate questions around the topic of justice and eventually create a project to complete with justice as a the central theme.  The classrooms will receive a micro-credential to display on all media to show others how our Catholic identity is central to what we do.

Our teachers have used the summer to prepare and organize so we can hit the ground running.  We know that constant reflection is going to be necessary this year as what we are doing now is different than what we did in the spring.  We look forward to consistent feedback and face time with our students.  We will not stop when it feels to hard- our number one goal is to ensure growth for each child!

Please always feel free to reach out to me with questions/comments/concerns at amostyn@stailbeschool.org.  You and your ideas matter to St. Ailbe!
