Greg Kreinberg - 4th Grade (Send e-mail)
I would like to welcome you and your child back to St. Ailbe for another school year. For those who are new to our school community I would like to extend a special welcome. I believe everyone will enjoy the school-church environment at St. Ailbe.
As a St. Ailbe teacher I would like to introduce myself. I am from Quincy, IL, where I attended a Catholic grade school. I graduated from Quincy College, a Franciscan institution, in 1987, majoring in history. I substituted for one year, then moved to Chicago to teach 8th Grade at Bridgeport Catholic Academy. I also taught at Our Lady Gate of Heaven School in the Jeffery Manor neighborhood where I was the 4th Grade teacher for 10 years until the school closed in 2005. While at the Gate I heard many good things about St. Ailbe and am eager to continue the school’s reputation for providing a quality religious education. I enjoy sports, reading, music, and biking.
The year ahead will be filled with many challenges and achievements. By working together in Christ we can all make this school year one of the best! |
This week in classMonday This week we are continuing our practice with perimeter and area problems. We are studying a new region of the United States, the Mid-Atlantic states. In Grammar, we are practicing writing new kinds of sentences. In Religion, we are understanding more and more the real suffering Jesus went through, the importance of sacrificing to help others, appreciating sacrifices made for us by others, and talking about more ways to help others, including participation in the Math-A-Thon and donating to the Multiple Sclerosis drive. The message being reinforced is, "Yes, we ask a lot of you as a Christian, and when the call goes out for help, what will St. Ailbe say?"
There is a new Science Challenge this week, with rewards going to any student who can think of a solution.
Also, kids were asked to create a school slogan in honor of Spirit Week, and some volunteered to design a new Homework Pass!
